What is a Feed in Tariff? This is a tariff for the generation of renewable energy – the rate for the Evance R9000 small wind turbine is 28 pence per kWh ( £0.28 per kWh) generated. The Feed in Tariff will reduce over the first number of years, but there is an increase relative to the RPI index. Once a system has been registered, the tariff levels are guaranteed for the period of the tariff and index-linked. In addition, for domestic users this income is tax free , whereas for businesses this investment will qualify for 'writing down' allowances.
